We can always use some extra cash but the problem is where to get it! One good place to do that is from eBay and in this article, I will share the Best Ways to Make Money On eBay!
If you ask a rich person how they become rich, they will probably tell you that they have multiple income streams! Unlike the 99% of the population where they rely on their job’s paycheque, rich people usually have multiple income streams.
Today, I hope to inspire you to take the road to the 1% lifestyle by teaching one of many ways to generating income online and that is by selling on eBay whether you have your own product to sell or selling other people’s product.
How to Earn Money with eBay?
There are two ways to make money with eBay (at least as per my knowledge). The first one is through “retail arbitrage” while the other is through “affiliate marketing”.
What is retail arbitrage?
In a nutshell, retail arbitrage is buying merchandise low or at a discounted price and selling it high!
What other people do is they go to the big retail store and find items that are heavily discounted, i.e. when seasonal items that go on clearance sale, then they either wait for the next season or sell it immediately on a regular or slightly discounted price and take the difference for profit.
eBay sellers usually go to thrift shops, find items that are cheap and check their eBay app to confirm if the item they found will sell. If they determine that there is a market for the product, they will buy the product then list it for a much higher price.
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a type of marketing where a business provides affiliate links to approved third parties to promote their goods and in return third parties receive a commission for each successful transaction they make.
For more information about affiliate marketing, you can watch this video by Wealthy Affiliate which I believe made a good job in explaining it.
Affiliate Disclosure – I am an Affiliate of many products promoted on this website and may earn a commission if you purchase something.
Does eBay have an Affiliate Program?
Yep and it is called eBay Partner Network
How do you sign up for eBay affiliate program?
Now that I gave you an overview of how to make money on eBay and how to use their affiliate program, I will now help you sign up for eBay Partner Network if you think this income stream idea is for you
eBay Partner Network
Here is the step by step guide on how to use eBay Partner Network, but first… if you do not have an account with eBay, then create one and if you need help how to create one then my article, “How to Sell On eBay” can definitely guide you on setting up one.

Anyways here are the steps on how to register for an eBay Partner Network.
The first step is to go to eBay Partner Network site. You can Google the site or click this link!
Next is for you to sign-in to you existing eBay account or sign-up for a new one
After you created or signed-in to your eBay account, you will be asked to choose your country of origin, then you need to click “Join Now”
After signing up, eBay will ask you to download the browser extension
Once you make the extension working, you can now browse on eBay for a product that you wish to advertise.
Note: Be sure to make an action call so your readers would know what to do with your affiliate link.
What is the best way to use eBay Partner Network for Profit?
There are a lots of way to use eBay Partner Network and the most popular are through blogging (vlogging if you have no problem filming yourself), and Pinterest.
Write a Blog or Create a Video and Insert Your eBay Affiliate Link
Bloggers and vloggers (Youtubers) make money through “sponsors” but in reality, most of them use an affiliate link.
Whenever you read a review blog, the author will usually include a link where to purchase the product they are reviewing and will ask you to purchase the product through the link. When you click the link, you will be redirected to an e-commerce store, most of the time Amazon. They make money when you purchase the product using their link.
This is true with vloggers as well.
Now why you know they always ask you to “click the link below”
Pin your eBay Affiliate Links on Pinterest
Now if you have no time writing a blog nor have no guts to film yourself, then market your affiliate link using Pinterest!
Why Pinterest?
In a nutshell, Pinterest is a shopper-focused platform and its users are proactive shoppers. In other words, they use Pinterest to find the next item they would buy.
If you need a more detailed explanation on why to use Pinterest, then please read my article, “3 Reason Why You Should Have Pinterest for Business“, where you can find a more detailed explanation on why Pinterest is the king when it comes to online marketing.
Using Pinterest to promote your eBay affiliate links is very efficient and effective! All you need to do is browse for an item you wish to sell then click the eBay’s smart share button. A window will pop-up you will see “Share on Social” at the bottom of the pop-up window. Click the Pinterest icon and TA-DAH, you just created an “affiliate-link” Pin.

Hi John,
Honestly, l don’t have an eBay account but after reading your article this seems a good opportunity to add another income stream to my online business. I going to sign up to the eBay Partner Network. Is it instant approval or l have to wait for their review?
As far as l know, Pinterest does not allow affiliate link to be posted directly in your account. I am very keen to learn how to post affiliate links on Pinterest. Can you elaborate more on this as l also have read your article – 3 reasons why you should have a Pinterest Business account.
Thank you
Hi,
Thanks for reading my “3 Reasons Why You Should Have a Pinterest Business Account” and hopefully I am able to explain it clear why a Pinterest business account is great for affiliate marketing/ e-commerce.
As per your question, signing up to the eBay Partner Network does not need a wait time for their review. Just be sure that you have an eBay account to create your eBay Partner Network.
I have seen many blogs about Pinterest not allowing affiliate links on Pinterest, but check on the dates of those blogs… they are usually 3+ years old one. Of course, there are some Affiliate Marketers that are already flagged on Pinterest, so if you try to create a pin and insert their affiliate link, Pinterest will not allow it.
As per eBay Partner Network, when you try to get an affiliate link of a product you wish to advertise on eBay when you look at the bottom of the pop-up box that contains your affiliate link, you will see Share On + either Facebook or Pinterest! So that indicates that Pinterest allows affiliate links coming from eBay!
Just to be on the safe side though, be sure to message both Pinterest and eBay to confirm whether or not they allow affiliate link to be posted on Pinterest.
Hope that helps!
Regards,
JG
