There is a big debate on whether to use a face mask or not. W.H.O. insists that it will not stop the spread of the virus and only the sick one should use it. Others argue that it can stop the spread of the virus. Personally, I will use one but not the medical-grade face mask since I think the frontliners need it more. However, using a Home-Made Face Masks is a different story.
Supporters of Masks as a Preventive Measure
I personally think that everyone should wear a mask, especially there are a lot of asymptomatic COVID-19 patients. However, I strongly suggest to only use non-medical grade masks since there is a shortage of both surgical and N95 masks and our frontline workers need that way more than us who are staying at home because we want to help our health care system.
Again, I want to reiterate that mask will not make you immune from COVID19. Use the mask but never forget to always wash your hands, don’t touch your hands, practice social distancing and disinfect high traffic surfaces.
Of course, if you need to go out to get your groceries and do other essential activities, it would be nice that you have your own mask, but where can you get a reliable and cheap mask especially right now when there are lots of people who price gouge essential items?

This is a good option if you really need to urgently go out to do essential activities, but don’t have your own mask. Of course, this option is only for the short term since the mask is not durable compared to a sewn mask.
