Amazon Associates is a subsidiary of Amazon.com that handles all of Amazon.com’s affiliate marketing needs.

They provide affiliate links to content marketers such as bloggers, vloggers, social media influencers, and (believe it or not) you. Content marketers, such as yourself, then ask their audience to use their (affiliate) link to buy the product they are promoting.

Amazon Associates provide affiliate links in many form such as text only, picture only, text and picture. This is great for marketers because they can choose a form that will fit nicely to their content/ site’s character.

There are two ways to use Amazon Associates.

The first way is for you to write a content (e.g. social media, videos, blog, etc) related to the item/s that is being advertised then create a call to action for your audience to buy the product/s using your link.

The other way is to use social media such as Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, etc. to directly advertise an Amazon product.

Note: Most content marketers use the combination of both. They first create a content then advertise it using Social media.

Alright! Those are the two (three) ways to use Amazon Associates, now let me teach you the steps on how to do it.

Using social media account to advertise products

Here are some of the basic steps on how you can use Amazon Associates on your social media.

1. Log in to Amazon website using the same account as your Amazon Associates
2. Search for niche-related products that you wish to sell
3. Obtain an affiliate link using Amazon Associates SiteStripe
4. Create an engaging, informative, and/or entertaining post about the product that you are trying to sell.

It usually takes time (6 months to 1 year) to get your overall domain ranking and individual articles high enough to be seen on the first page of S.E.R.P.s. You can increase your overall ranking by consistently writing lots of high-quality, search engine optimized articles.

Please know this. I am not discouraging you but I do not want to give you false expectation. Being an Amazon Affiliate is one of the most lucrative online business out there but you need to work hard especially in the beginning. There will be times where you will feel what you are doing is pointless of a scam but you need to dismiss that negativity, instead, you need to focus on consistently producing high-quality articles. Most importantly, you need to be patient for the results to come. Remember, this is a business, not a get-rich-quick scheme.
